How to couple mechanical physics by ICP

Hello,

I need to couple machanical physics with hydraulic and chemical physics in ICP. I modified the comsol document in 'Example 1 THC Canister' provided by ICP. I added 'Solid Mechanics' physics in COMSOL, and run the coupling calculation of Darcy's Law and Solid Mechanics in COMSOL withoout any error information. However, when I run the coupling in ICP, errors occured. The error file are printed as follows:
05/07 23:11:44 - [SEVERE] -> The_following_feature_has_encountered_a_problem
05/07 23:11:44 - [SEVERE] -> Error running initial conditions check your model and try again.
05/07 23:11:44 - [SEVERE] -> Error in calculateInitialConditions in problem problem1
05/07 23:11:44 - [SEVERE] -> Saving error file at your input file folder: D:\DuanRQ\Desktop\S80\0724_modify_THC
05/07 23:11:45 - [SEVERE] -> D:\DuanRQ\Desktop\S80\0724_modify_THC\error.mph saved
05/07 23:11:45 - [SEVERE] -> problem running the loop of problems
05/07 23:11:45 - [SEVERE] -> Execution aborted

Could someone offer some help to solve the problem or provide some guidances to realize my purpose?
Thanks

Dear Ruiqi,
That error message indicates that the model crashed during a step in Comsol. You can open the error.mph file and try to run the solvers in Comsol. You will probably get an error message giving you more info on the problem (variables missing, non-convergence, etc.).
However, you should know that iCP is not compatible with all the physics available in Comsol. Non-compatible physics show the following message when being run in Comsol: "Number of degrees of freedom solved for: 3717 (plus 2930 internal DOFs).". This is the case for many of the mechanical module physcis. If you get this kind of message, iCP is able to run but the chemical results will not make any sense.
This is an issue of iCP 1.6 and will be adressed in future releases.
I hope this information is usfeul for your problem.
Best regards,
Emilie

Thank you for the responses.
You mean that someone tried to couple mechanical module physcis but failed, meanwhile someone others succeded, right?

I have tried to run the error.mph in comsol as you guide, and the error information is shown as bellow:
Cannot create native file C:\Users\DuanRQ\AppData\Local\Temp\csjavabridge78853\solblock8352_6605890075450583694.mphbin.

What's the matter in the model and how should I to modify it? Please offer me some suggestions. Thanks a lot.

Ruiqi

That seems to be an error with permissions or space on your Comsol Temp folder, there is a post of Comsol on these type of errors:
www.comsol.com/support/knowledgebase/1083
I recommend that you make sure that there is enough space on your C: drive, that you try to change the location of your Temp folder and deactivate the recovery files.
Best regards,
Emilie
